I swear a tennis ball is one of those holy grail training equipment items that every dancer needs in their dance bag.
You can use a tennis ball for strengthening exercises, coordination training, and rolling out your muscles.

2. Resistance Bands
Resistance bands are one of the best things for dancers to use. They are great for strengthening your feet for pointe work and ballet. There are lots of different exercises dancers can use resistance bands with.

3. Yoga Mat
A yoga mat is a very versatile piece of dance training equipment that you can use for a variety of things. If you take anything from barre classes to yoga and pilates, you know that a yoga mat is essential.
They are also a super inexpensive piece of dance training equipment that you can get for less than $20 at a TJMAXX or Marshalls.

4. Foam Roller
When I tell you that foam rolling will change your life I am not lying dancers! For all of your long performances and rehearsals, your muscles will thank you if you use a foam roller.
There are also some great dance conditioning exercises that you can do with a foam roller beyond just rolling out your muscles.

5. Foam Block
There are so many useful dance exercises that you can do with a foam yoga block in order to build strength and technique as a dancer. That’s why this piece of dance training equipment is a must have.

6. Pilates Ball
Soft pilates balls or the specific Yamuna balls have been life changing for me as a dancer. You can use them for moving and massaging your muscles, with conditioning exercises, and for stability training.
I HIGHLY recommend getting a few different sizes of pilates balls to add to your dance training routine because they are super easy to throw in your dance bag and use on the go.

7. Wrist and Ankle Weights
If you want to add more of a challenge to your dance training routine add wrist and ankle weights to your dance training equipment collection.
Using ankle or wrist weights while doing barre workouts and pilates will help give you a bit more of a challenge when you need it.
I know so many dancers that have been able to improve their por de bras quickly by using wrist weights and practicing ballet arms.

8. Hand Held Muscle Roller
When a foam roller gets harder to use I highly recommend getting a hand help muscle roller or smaller muscle roller to throw in your dance bag.
You can choose from standard rollers to rollers with additional grooves to stimulate blood flow. There are also rollers made for different body parts like your feet to help you really roll out that area better.

9. Bosu Ball
The bosu ball has to be my favorite piece of dance training equipment on this list. I use it to build core strength, leg stability, ankle strength, and so much more.
I swear that this piece of dance equipment will change your dance training routine for the better in so many different ways.

10. Balance or Stability Board
When you don’t have time to carry around a bosu ball a balance or stability board is a great alternative to throw in your dance bag.
There are so many different sizes and shapes of stability boards to add to your collection. They are all so great for improving your balance, stability, ankle, and leg strength.
