Going back to dance class can be a stressful time. As a dancer of over 18 years I understand that feeling. That is why we have created this post to help you prepare for that time when you go back to dance class.
After reading this post you will know how to stay stress-free, fueled, and confident for you first week back at dance class.
This post is all about going back to dance class.
Going Back to Dance Class
Stay Hydrated
With all the potential stress of school and dance it is always important to stay hydrated. Make sure you keep a full water bottle at all times. This will keep you from getting dehydrated and keep you going when you get tired.
You can even add some hydration support packets in for flavor and an extra boost to your water. We have linked some great options below for you to check out and try for your first week back at dance class.
Stay Fueled with Dance Class Snacks
Just like staying hydrated with water and electrolytes it is important to stay fueled for dance class with a few healthy, quick snacks.
Prepare Your Dance Bag the Day Before Class
This tip can save your life! Every night before your next class or the day before classes begin, be sure to prepare your bag with all the essentials you’ll need. This should include your shoes, clothing, snacks, conditioning equipment, and anything else you might need for dance class.
Take Care of Your Body
As dancers our bodies are our main instruments. That is why we need to take care of them! The first week back can make you a little extra sore as your muscles readjust to the rhythm of taking class again. Be sure to care for your muscles with ice, heat, stretching, or rolling them out.
You can roll your muscles out by using a tennis ball or foam roller. It might be a little uncomfortable for a little while but your body will thank you in the morning. An ice bath for your feet can also boost your recovery as well as a hot bath or shower to stay fresh and give your muscles some rest.
