Dance tights come in a wide variety of styles and colors. Just be sure you choose the right style for your needs. Sometimes you’ll need different tights for a performance than what you would need for class.
Here is your quick guide to different types of tights for dance
- Footed Tights- Tights with a foot similar to women’s hosiery. These tights have no hole in the foot
- Transition or Convertible Tights- These tights typically have a hole in the foot. Ballet dancers typically use these tights to have easy access to pad their feet for pointe shoes
- Stirrup Tights– Tights with out a foot or heel that outline the arch of your foot when worn all the way down
- Footless or Capri- Tights that cut off along the shin or near the ankle without any footing
- Body Tights- Tights that typically can cover part of the torso in addition to the legs. These usually have elastic straps that go over the shoulders to hold the tights up.

Skirts are most often worn in ballet class. They may be a small accent to your dance outfits but they can addd so much.
Dance skirts come in all sorts of styles and colors. They can be pull-on, wrap, circle, or other styles. Skirts can truly take your Dancewear to the next level, plus they are also fun to turn in.

Dance tops include a wide variety of dance clothing such as sports bras, tank tops, crop tops, and t-shirts. You might wear these items for dance conventions, dance competitions, and dance classes other than ballet.
Many dancers will wear some form of a dance top for team rehearsals and try outs to better show off their physique. With dance tops you do not even need specific Dancewear, you can also choose from a variety of fitness and athleisure sports bras and tops to wear for dancing.
